Suicide Squad #7 preview. There's some serious MAD LOVE going on here.

I just got done reading Paul Dini & Bruce Timm's MAD LOVE thanks to a co-worker who loaned it to me this weekend. It's quite interesting to see the juxtaposition between how the relationship between The Joker and Harley unfold as opposed to how it has so far in the relaunch universe as seen in Suicide Squad #6. It's quite similar so far but from what I can see the biggest difference is the Joker's past defeats by Batman having made the him an even more sympathetic patient to Harley beyond the bullshit stories (just like in Batman: The Dark Knight) he fed her about his broken child hood.
So aside from that little trip down memory lane from the old DC Universe I offer you all an opportunity to read the first 5 pages of Suicide Squad #7. But if you think you can wait till next week I'll shoot to have a full review out on new comic book day. Either way be sure to come back here I'm sure the continued Harley Quinn origin story will not disappoint.

  2. Easy Dave!
    I come in peace :)
I actually didn't buy last issue yet. Which doesn't mean I'll never do it, but This all Quin arc is falling to interest me. Harley Quin is a character I don´t mind seeing in comics, but never lead me to buy any. In any universe.
I'm actually eager for this story to be over and move to anything else.
You might argue, the lack of my favorite character in it, has an influence in my opinion...
Yes, it sure does. Right now the story told isn't really grabbing my attention. I hope that will change soon, with whomever characters there might come, but I wish they would get finished with Harley's story already.
That said, and her comes the peace part: I'll keep readding your reviews, which I trust to tell me when it's fun to read again :)

    1. Aliera, don't worry i'm not gonna call you any names or anything mean and nasty like that. but i don't understand how this current story line could be boring for you. the way the Joker manipulates Dr. Harley Quinzel into falling for him was brilliantly written. well i hope you'll become interested in whatever comes along next but don't worry i'll be writing about it all here. by the way that person who left the first comment has only 30 minutes left.

    2. The way a jerk manipulates a woman is never briliant for me, not then and not now. The way a woman can't get out of it, isn't interesting either not even in academic study. I've been on that end for about five minutes once, and I tell you. It was hell. Many women can't put a Stop in it at all. There are some manipulative bastards around the world. I'm not agrandizing any one of them.
Any way, there are many characters (one in special) that I would LOVE having back in the squad. Let's hope for their return.

    3. i totally understand how you feel. women falling for manipulative and abusive assholes while nice guys finish last is an all too common theme. it's nothing short of a tragic mystery why that happens so much. but i think at the same time that true to life sort of aspect of the Harley Quinn Joker relationship is what made it so popular with the fans in the first place. yeah it's a tragedy but at the same time we can all relate to it to some degree. i suspect that's what made Jerry Springer so popular it's a total circus but most of us have been there.
and yeah let's hope for the debut of more familiar Squad characters old DC Universe including a come back for ol Digger. Aliera, sometimes you write in English better then most Americans, very impressive.

  3. Um, did anyone notice that when she got out the acid her hair was perfectly half red half purple? That's unrealistic and stupid. Btw I think the last episode was very rubbishy.
