Bronze Tiger vs Bronze Tiger

As I was lamenting the continued travesty of the new DCU and what they have been doing with all Suicide Squad related stuff I had an epiphany about how they came up with the brilliant idea (I'm being so fucken sarcastic) to make Ben Turner into some kind of reject from The Island of Dr. Moreau. Somebody at DC must have been watching the original Thundercats one day and it had occurred to him that the Panthro character was voiced by a black actor. That in turn probably made him think about how BT is a black character and that BT's time in the New DCU has finally come. . .sort of. And before you know it we now have the latest dumbass move by the powers that be at DC.

As irony would have it if you recall Ben Turner squared off with a cat man martial artist kinda hybrid character back in the original Suicide Squad during The Dragon's Horde story line. You all remember right? That was back when reading a comic book with the title Suicide Squad was enjoyable. When it comes to the old DCU vs the New DCU remember to always bet on black. And you can take that to the bank . . the blood bank.

P.S. I just love cheesy one liners.

  1. It's another rip off. That's really all you can say.
These days it seems in comics that any change is good just because it's different. Except people mistake change for actual plot and character development.

    1. Those big old exec's have the creative market cornered don't they?

  2. The whole concept threw me so hard that I forgot to say how good the artwork was. The drawing is nothing less than amazing and everything you want for a Bronze Tiger comic, interior and cover art. Standing ovation.

The rest of the the collaborators on the BT project should get mob justice.

    1. a agree with you on the art work. in fact much of the art of the new DCU is quite good. which makes it that much more of a shame that the writing and all the "creativity" has soiled it all in a way. as someone who likes to draw i have some idea of how difficult it is being a comic book penciler and as far as i'm concerned there's a lot of effort by some really talented artists being squandered in the new DCU. it's a real shame whenever you open a book that has some amazing art work with a shitty story.

  3. Wait, what's going on? Is BT in the Nu DCU? When did that happen?

  4. Can we please, please, please, just go back to the old DCU - you know - bullet and all? Let's get guaranteed writers in and get the status quo back to before every suit looked like it had been inspired by TRON. It's sooo about time.

PS I love good oneliners too. Arnie ones especially :)

  5. Hey, Ben. Did you read the recent issue of 'Red Hood and the Outlaws'? In it, there was a flashback sequence where Jay worked with a black assassin called Ben -- presumably Ben Turner -- and he doesn't look like Tony the Tiger.
