Superman Batman Apocalypse
I was at a Target store last night (it's like Walmart) and I saw Superman Batman Apocalypse for only $10. I was tempted to grab it but I decided not to. Although I think Justice League Doom is a bit better then most give it credit for I have no doubt this animated DC movie is way better. The battle between Wonder Woman/Barda and The Female Furies was arguably the best fight scene in any DC animated movie and the animation through out was nothing short of perfect. But like Doom there's so much of this movie on Youtube already I'm not sure I'd be getting a whole lot of bang for my 10 bucks at this point.
By the way have any of you seen any of Suicide Squad 24? Captain Boomerang is back on the team but aside from that the story appears actually appears to be somewhat interesting for a change. So there seems to be a glimmer of hope whoever the current writer is might actually take this book into the right direction. It's still far from something that I'll buy and besides pretty much half the issue can be read online anyways:

Hey Ben. SS #24 isn't that bad. Granted. It isn't that brilliant either. But it is still worth a look. Must better then this cartoon anyway.
ReplyDeleteoooh! that was a serious dis on Superman Batman Apocalypse. well i haven't seen that movie from start to finish nor have i read the Suicide Squad new 52 since i dropped the series after #10 (although i have followed the series through online reviews) but based on what i've seen in both Superman Batman Apocalypse still comes out light years ahead. but i will agree with you #24 is worth a look the next time i'm at my local comic shop although i'm 99.9% sure my money will stay in my pocket unless i come across something cool in a back issue bin.
DeleteI've been sitting on issues 19, 21-23 and haven't even read em. So I'm hoping the S.S. gets good again so the Suicide Squad Task Force X blogspot can start covering the Squad Again.
ReplyDeletedamn, i thought you had dropped that series too i had no idea you were still buying those. and how ironic i just posted a youtube review late last month here on #23 which exemplified well why i'm so disinterested in this series and don't buy it any more.
DeleteI did drop it and the news came out that BT was coming back to DC so went back and bought all those issues and started buying Red Hood issues and you know the rest. Epic disappointment with the reintroduction of Bronze Tiger.
DeleteMatter of fact, you didn't come back over to the Tiger Cage and tell me what you thought of BT's first TV appearance.
sorry brother I missed that question. but even if I had seen it I wouldn't have been able to answer it. I never saw it i'm completely out of the loop as far as Arrow goes. I heard a while back Roy Harper was in it now but I didn't catch that either. the first episode and what little I've seen of it here and there left me completely uninterested in it.
DeleteI liked Superman/Batman Apocalypse, but I think it's on Netflix. It's been at least a month since we watched it. Probably time to dust it off again. I usually watch it back to back with the Wonder Woman animated movie. Why? Because you can never have too much of Wonder Woman kicking butt.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't watched the second episode of Arrow. I know, I know. But I am caught up on Sons of Anarchy. One thing checked off the dvr at a time, right? I do still get kind of a sick twisted feeling whenever Roy makes out with "Speedy". Seems a little bit of an obvious commentary on self love.
I've yet to see Wonder Woman Animated. Can't find it on DVD anywhere here and the Little Red Box never carried it (I'd heard they refused to)
