BATMAN: Assault on Arkham is here . . sort of

Left click to enlarge
First up, I found a little flash back cameo in a discount back issue bin last week from Millennium - Week 5 (1987). Suicide Squad # 8 was a cross over into the whole Millennium series in which The Squad was sent with an experimental explosive device to go destroy a Manhunter strong hold in the Louisiana Bayous. Along the way they're joined by Captain Atom who shortly there after takes on a brain washed Firestorm after he attacks The Squad even though the actual fight takes place in the pages of The Atom.

Apparently this video is still a couple weeks or so away from being released at retail stores but as I understand it you can see it digitally on iTunes. I'll update this posting accordingly as soon as I get a chance to watch it (sooner then later I'm hoping) so that the 3 or 4 of you who still read this blog I update about once a month can know what I thought of it.

  1. I already saw it- and it was AWESOME!!! No spoilers- but it's a straight up Squad movie! Batman is BARELY in it- which was awesome! Enjoy! -It's the most adult cartoon DC has ever put out.

YaY! Nobody's Favorite Superhero!!! He's the best!

    1. Heh, come on, dude- you're on the internet... Know how to use it.
I watched it last night. -In glorious HD surround-sound. ;)

I saw Son of Batman early too, when it was out- but that was a steaming pile of fuck, and I wish I hadn't. I would/will pay to see Assault on Arkham again!

    3. You should LOVE it. -For real.
If not... I will severely question your taste.

I did not like the comics with Damian- so I was gonna be uninterested in Son of Batman to begin with. The animation was great, awesome voice acting... I just hated the story. And I'm glad they killed him off.

  2. File that in what to watch after work. I'm in a Batman mode, playing the Arkham games, and this will be a nice diversion when my fingers get sore and my eyes start tearing up.
I haven't seen Son of Batman yet either, I always bypassed it because I despise Damien, but if you say it's good, I'll give it a shot.

  4. I'm glad Assault on Arkham is worth it King - and I might have to look online too. I'm usually with Dave and waiting for the DVD, but they really only get this far south now in rare specialty stores, where the early ones were in every shop, on every corner.

I'm working my way back through the Arkham games at night too just like Random - trying to find all the elusive Riddler prizes, so it is already arkham season here.

  5. hi guys, sorry about the late reply but i don't check in on this blog that much these days plus i'm about to fly to Seattle in a couple hours from now. truth be told Dale from what i've seen of Son of Batman on youtube i'm not that crazy about it. they seemed to have really bungled the Deathstroke character and damian is way over powered. i saw a clip in which he gets pinned to a wall by getting stabbed through the arms but keeps fighting after he pulls his arms free and i was like cmon give me a break. but i've seen and heard enough good stuff about Assault on Arkham to know i'm going to pick it up as soon as it hits the shelves

    1. As am I my friend, the reviews so far are just to good. Hope they're true. But Son of Batman is soooo garbage. Like Shlomo said the ridiculous things they do make you want to vomit or bust your tv screen. Hated it.

Assault on Arkham hits stores today or tomorrow. I'll check back in after I see the movie. Fingers are crossed.
