For this piece I thought it might be a nice touch to have her flanked by Bronze Tiger and Deadshot. This is the first time I've illustrated BT with out his tiger Mask. It's always good to diversify your work a bit here and there. I think hands and faces are always the hardest things to draw. And faces can be especially challenging with black n' white drawings that feature characters of certain ethnic backgrounds.
While drawing this I started becoming sentimental (yet again!) about the John Ostrander days. So at this time I would like to dedicate this Ugly Kid Joe song I've always been rather fond of to DC Comics and their relaunch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byEGjLU2egA&NR=1&feature=endscreen
excellent job Dave. I like fan art just as much as a professional rendering, even more when fan art out does the big boys. Sometimes a concept from one of us is absolutely mind blowing.

thanks, when you have a free few minutes i'd recommend that Ugly Kid Joe song it'll feel cathartic.

DeleteExcellent job Dave! I like Duchess too, I think because of the inevitability of her fall back to the Furies. It always felt like it was coming. I think you did a great job on the Bronze Tiger's face and I really appreciate seeing him without the mask. That's a rare treat!

I was a bit disapointed when she returned to the furies. The only way I wouls have find it worth it, wasf she had suplanted Granny Goodness. Yes, I really don't like the good gran.
well, look who finally showed up to the party. you never stop surprising me you used to listen to Ugly Kid Joe huh? i certainly do like big boobs (like most American guys), and i had to resist the temptation not to make them any bigger. i wanted to be at least somewhat realistic with my version of a woman like Duchess who is supposed to have an athletic and lean body. as to the posting before this one despite how Amanda Waller is written all wrong i'm going to stop bashing on Adam Glass constantly. even though that takes away from what's been my greatest pleasure on this blog lately :)
DeleteAwww, Ugly Kid Joe. Now that really takes me back. True, I was a wee lad when this came out, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it any less. This sounds like no only the unofficial Adam Glass fan club song, but the official theme for Dildo Comics.
