The best Bond according to Captain Boomerang

From the pages of Checkmate #16 (Vol.1). This scene is one of my favorite Boomerang moments from the old DCU. I can't help but wonder if it would have been written differently had the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig Bond movies come along prior to this issue having been published (1989). At any rate I'm happy to share this with you all given that new comics these days give me very little to get excited over or blog about.

On a side note here I just wanted to mention my latest discount back issue score. Last week in S.F. I found G.I.Joe #2, 26 and 27in a 3 for $1 box. I used to have #1 so it was nice to be able to read #2 finally after all these years and it was quite good. It's probably been about 20 years since I last read 26 & 27 (first origin story of Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow) but I think it was an even a better read for me now then it was to me back then. Great stuff, a damn shame the movie sucked ass.

  1. Yeah, I guessed Boomer was a Connery fan and I was right. I never watched the Dalton or George Lazerby versions, or much of Moore, even though I liked him. And the Brosnan ones were well done, and Daniel Craig seems to have re-invigorated the franchise for me.

    1. Ol'Boomer finally got something right. Sean Connery is the ultimate Bond, everything else is secondary.

I like Graig, he kicks ass but his swag is a bit rough. Bond is sauve and debonair if nothing else. without that, your just a dude in a suit.

    2. well, any Bond who can make jokes and talk trash while getting whacked in the nuts is more then just a dude in a suit as far as i'm concerned. hey man you should take a picture and post that G.I.Joe duffle bag i wanna see it.

    1. hey Peter thanks for visiting. well who doesn't like Ivy right? but the line up on the mast head consists of the SS members who have had the longest standing history on the team back in the old DCU. i was picking up the SS reboot for a while there but i lost interest in it as i did in the entire DC reboot.

  3. Dalton was the worst.
Connery and now Daniel Craig are the best Bonds ever.
I guess this is one of those things everybody has their favorites.
I never read this scene, thank you!
Harkness seems to have an internal GPS for avoiding being shot in the back.
    Except with Deadshot.
