Figures a concept as cool as this wouldn't be found in the actual Suicide Squad comic these days. Hat tip to Dan for bringing this to my attention. As most of you know I'm not a gamer but I'll be keeping an eye out (pun intended) for any more developments on this. I'm really happy to see CCH Pounder doing the voice of Amanda Waller again. Most recently Pounder has been seen in the Sons of Anarchy ironically playing a very Waller like character.

Deathstroke joins Task Force X?
Figures a concept as cool as this wouldn't be found in the actual Suicide Squad comic these days. Hat tip to Dan for bringing this to my attention. No one but Ms.CCH Ponder should do the voice of Amanda Waller. She should probably do the voice of the live actors as well. Did you see that sorry version of Waller on Arrow? Naevia is not Amanda. Hurt my little feelings to see such a weak version. I thought they were going to be consistent and use Angela Bassett for Waller, leading right up to the Justice League movie.
ReplyDeleteAnyway.....I heard they chose a stick figure to play Diana Prince in the new Batman, Superman movie as well. Stupid Bastards.
I thought Pam Grier was a fairly good Waller on Smallville. as for Arrow, I haven't seen anything from it past the first few episodes in it's first season. from what I've seen of the show since then I'm pretty sure they won't be able to do any of these DC characters justice rather they be Waller, Roy Harper or BT. naw I didn't hear that about Diana Prince that figures.
DeleteYeah OA, Wonder Woman's casting for the Superman Batman movie didn't quite make the bang I think they were hoping it would. What's the bet that as yet untitled film is Superman: Justice League?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a gamer either but these Batman games have got such a great wrap and obviously influenced the DC52 quite a bit, so I dug mine out and gave it a whirl. Seeing this made me excited. The whole trilogy has done better than comic versions of Joker, Black Mask, Mad Hatter, Batman, Bane etc and right from those first steps I knew it was Waller and she'd be the same.
As the games have already starred Harley Quinn, Deadshot and (a mega brilianyt and creepy) Poison Ivy, the Squad is pretty much already there. Will be interesting to see who they add in.
One think I hope they expand on is Joker using Scarface's ventriloquist dummy.I always thought that doll's warped perspective would be good mouthing off in a gang!
Yep, the choice of WW was less than cap gun smoke. But the Batman video game has done that thing with Bat villains. Bronze Tiger is even included in the story and he has a NPC fight at Blackgate. Maybe Taskforce X will be next. Deathstroke has made a splash though. My youngest nephew is a Slade fanatic. He would rather play as Deathstroke than the Bat.
DeleteArrow didn't do BT any favors with the writing, and didn't do Deadshot and now Waller any favors with the casting. Shlomo your not missing anything.
Arkham Asylum, Halo Reach, Red Dead Redemtion and Skyrim has set new standards in video game story telling and play. The cut scenes in these guys are better than most full length movies.
these are some sad times my friends. DC, the CW and cartoon network all have let us down in one way or another. all that we have left now are back issue bins and whatever cool might turn up on the internet from time to time.
