Conjugal visits

I have to admit that was a pretty good line. Alright let's give it a second look what the Hell day and time does this show come on?

As something of a follow up to K.o.T's War of the Genders posting which includes the clip art above here's a nice panel from Suicide Squad 58 in which after a brief skirmish Amanda Waller agrees to help Black Adam assault Circe's island strong hold which has an army of amazonian like woman warriors and some kind of werewolf beasts.

The attack commences later in the issue and concludes as the island under goes some sort of earthquake which cuts short the battle. War of the Gods 3 doesn't have a whole lot of Suicide Squad action in it despite them being pretty prominently represented on the cover art but it does include more Squad casualties. Here's the total body count from a posting a while back compliments of Siskoids Blog of Geekery

  2. Hahaha- yeah, Javelin's death scene in War Of The Gods was pretty fucked up. Nice to see some of the in-between. -I don't have this issue.
The Squad won't have a part in tonight's episode (at least I doubt it) it's pretty-much gonna be about lesbian Black Canary, and League of Assassins member; Nyssa al Ghul.
Did you happen to see SHIELD last night? Simi-relevant posting tomorrow...

    1. sigh . . it seems indeed that episode had nothing to do with the Suicide Squad. and from what i could see from the previews neither will the next. this is starting to feel like Smallville again after Pam Grier showed up as Amanda Waller with Checkmate. i would get like 5 or 10 minutes of that in exchange for 40 to 45 minutes of an episode that i gave a rat's ass about. after a few weeks of that crap i gave up a second time on Smallville and never went back until the series finally finale. so far Arrow has failed to impress me . . .again.

    2. Well, the show is not about The Squad... You can't judge the show based on them not being in it- they really just started that plot-thread. They've had that Black Canary stuff bubbling on the stove since the beginning of the season. And I always approve of lesbians. So, no complaints here. And next episode looks like the Slade story is coming to a head.
Dude- I gave up on Smallville soooo often. Then they would lure me back in with some trailer going- BUT LOOK WHO IS GONNA BE IN THIS EPISODE! So I'd watch and it would either suck, be only a few scenes, or both.
-But I actually like Ollie, and the supporting cast, and the show; so I'm not watching this one just for the guest-stars... Did that episode really not impress you? -It was a good one! It had some great fight-scenes/choreography, Nyssa looked/was awesome, Black Canary was running in costume a lot, plus- LESBIANS!
Man, I'd love it if they eventually do the "invisible-map" story-line and actually go to Nanda Parbat!!!

    3. in the past i've liked plenty of DC stuff that had nothing to do with The Squad. i did enjoy Smallville for the first two or three seasons there was no Amanda Waller or Suicide Squad stuff going on. as for TV animated stuff Batman, Justice League Unlimited and Young Justice had a little bit of Squad related stuff (not Batman) but i enjoyed those two series thoroughly. several of the DC animated movies were great and they didn't have anything to do with the Squad. but yeah was i hoping to see some Squad stuff last night? sure, but that's not the only reason why i didn't enjoy the episode. it was just still too much like what remember from the first season and from what burnt me out on Smallville. i'll check it out next week because i do like Deathstroke a lot too but if that episode fails to entertain me as well i won't be tuning into that show again.

    4. Oh, I'm not trying to say you don't like any show that is not about The Squad or has them in it! -It just seemed like you were saying that Arrow episode, in particular- 'had nothing to do with the Suicide Squad so I hated it.'
But it won't be on again until the gay-hating Olympics are over. -So you got awhile.
You actually liked Smallville at one point? That show was unbearable to me. No matter what they tried to surround it with- the core premise was so poorly conceived on every level that it never mattered. "You can dress up a pig, but it's still a pig- isn't it."

    1. The Writer was awesome! Such a cool idea... Animal Man FTW! I'm only familiar with Silver Swan from a few Wonder Woman comics I have with her in them... but even in those she brought a lot of weight with her character.
