Proper disposal of a pedophile 101 with Catman & Deadshot

So I'm gonna switch gears here folks from something earlier this week that was fun to a more serious subject matter. There's no planning process, I just write postings on the fly depending on what's inspiring me that day. Do you all remember the 1988 Deadshot mini-series in which Deadshot's late son Eddie was murdered by a pedophile? Well Deadshot dealt with him pretty well by shooting his son's murderer to pieces starting with the knees and making his way up to the head. A fitting end for that type of bottom feeding scum of a sex offender.
But I'll tell ya, Catman has it down even better when it comes to properly disposing of human garbage like that. In Secret Six #16 we see Catman and Deadshot (disguised as cops) hijack a prisoner transport by ambushing and subduing the guards using brutal but none lethal force. They spring this guy who was convicted of raping and murdering a young girl. Of course the convict thought it was his lucky day but it soon turned out to be his worst nightmare as he discovers that Catman and Deadshot were paid by the victim's father to get him out of police custody so he could avenge his daughter.
So later the pedophile murderer is strapped to a table and the father is given a knife. He's about to get started but then looses his nerve. Even with righteous revenge as a motive it still takes strength (not the physical kind) to inflict excruciating pain on another person. It's just not something most of us are cut (no pun intended) out for. Some, might call the ability to do so a "gift". And as you will see here Catman has that gift. Which he passes on to the victim's father in the form of some helpful tips to insure he does what needs to be done. We don't actually get to see anything beyond this point but we as the readers can assume that the murdered girl can now rest in peace and that the scum bag in the last panel will be resting in pieces knowing that the father is about to go medieval on his ass.

  1. If anyone grabbed one of my kids, I'd like to think I had the strength to do what I need to, as so many of these wastes get off by pleading insanity or try to make themselves out to be the victim.
Of course if they grab one of my kids, they're in for a world of hurt. I think mom and the little ones are far more dangerous foes than I am.

  2. i don't have any kids but i have at least some idea of how you feel bro. i've lost count of how many women i've dated who at some point dropped the past sexual abuse bombshell on me. next to terrorists, sex offenders are the lowest form of human life.

  3. I'm pretty sure, if one of my kids was taken, and hurt in any way, I could do anything to the person who hurt them. I'm not entirely sure I'd be proud of it later, but the instinct to completely destroy them is certainly there. From the second they are born everything in you screams to that NO ONE touches your child and lives.

  4. As a former crisis counselor that specialized in youth I've had to walk beside some children who will never get to be just that due to actions of those around them. They came from all backgrounds and while they are all labelled 'victims' the level of support, rationale of the attackers and method of handling the situation was never ever the same, and always surprising.

Some parents didn't have the vengeance streak in them. For me that was something that I found hard to not so much understand as that wasn't my role, but to shift perspective to see things from that side. Adults can move on - Kids can't what they see and feel in those early years sticks.

As for the 'insanity defense' don't get me started on that one.

  5. Here's where I stand on the insanity defense. You want to use it? Fine. Still doesn't mean it's a free out. You're that insane that you can do something that evil? You either get to be locked up for the rest of your life so you don't get to do it again to someone else, because obviously you can't control it (wasn't that your "defense"?) or you get to die for the same reason. That's where I stand on the insanity defense.

  6. Go Random! That's exactly what Mrs. D and I have discussed on more than one occasion. I take little comfort in the fact that I'd be going to prison for longer than my child's potential attacker for what I'd do to him if I caught him.

We had a guy back in '96 who got out of the asylum and as his first act as a free man, walked into a local chapel and attacked a group of 90+ year old retired nuns. He killed 2 and injured 2 others (I believe sexual assualt). The big scandal was that he shouldn't have gotten released in the first place due to his previous violation. But he did. Here's the article on his release to a home last year.

  7. Exactly my point. There is hardly ever any consideration for the psychological impact on the victims, or the victims' friends when they release one of these people after they have been "rehabilitated". I think, if one of the offenders repeats, the judges and parole boards who releases them should be culpable. Let them think twice before they think about releases someone who isn't fully in control of their actions. If someone truly cannot be trusted to keep themselves from hurting someone else, they should NOT be allowed out in society. Especially if they've proven it TWICE. You need medication to keep yourself sane? Fine. But who is making sure that you take it in the real world? No one. Not with any degree of certainty. Not for my peace of mind. This crap makes me mad.

  8. I love the way you think. I've said that before too. Make the judges and defense lawyers answer for it if the repeat offender repeats yet again. Of course you'd run into the problem of finding people willing to be defense lawyers, but a few less lawyers in the world is fine with me.

  9. Or they'd have to think twice about the using the insanity defense. Or what the insanity defense allows you to get. It's just incredibly screwed up. That part of the system needs to be reworked. It doesn't protect the public, and serves no purpose, as far as I can tell. And yeah, less lawyers...I can deal with that. Now a few more plumbers and mechanics...we need more competition in those fields...bring down the prices there.

  10. you guys are so lucky you don't live around here with all these far leftist nut jobs. they pretty much think being pro-Israel or showing any degree of patriotism as an American is the worst kind of danger of all to public safety. they'll crucify someone like that in a heart beat before any terrorist or sex offender. the trade of to living here is that you can't beat the weather and all the comic shops around here. it's just not fair.

  11. People have their priorities out of wack. Not that I wouldn't mind some nice weather. I'd kind of like to ditch the heavy sweaters right about now.

  12. (On a brighter note...)Here we're having an early summer.
It's hot and the beaches are full of people when I go jogging.
I agree with all your coments, people.
