Straight outta New Zealand some new Squad fan art

Thanks Dan I know you worked a long time to finally get this done I'm really glad to be finally show casing it here. I think you got all the character's personalities down pretty good here I especially like how Waller looks so ominous. Also nice going on having Diablo on the Ostrander era Squad he was one of the few things I liked about the New 52 Squad. And also thanks for quite literally leaving Harley Quinn out of the picture I've long since O.D.d on Harley with the Suicide Squad.

  1. Thanks Dave! Appreciate the support mr. Yeah Diablo is the best part about the DCnU team to me too. Plus he's a great light source!

I originnaly had a whole other layout I wanted to do with Mirror Master, Deadshot and Terra from the Titans in it but I just couldn't get it. I always thought Waller would round Terra up after The Judas Contract and make her serve for being a traitor, and for accent and teleportation putposes M.M. is an awesome tag, so I'm gutted those guys didn't make it in.

    1. The Judas Contract, not all that long ago i found Teen Titans Annual 3 in a dollar box and it's the conclusion of The Judas Contract story line. that was some good stuff the Terra character was really well developed i know a little something of her back in the early 80s from a little bit of Titans i was able to get a hold of back then.

  2. Just posted well-deserved praise on FB, but great job again Dan. But yeah, why no Captain Boomerang? LOL.

  3. Probably because I'm waiting for DC to create a cool Kiwi character who isn't written like an Australian that is mega cool. Until then I run with Boomerang being in the helicopter. His outfit looks like an airline stewardess, so he's probably asking Vertigo and Deathstroke 'chicken or fish' right now.

Terra's betrayal was an undie ripper at the time Dave, but re-reading prior issues now, it's all so obvious. Thanks guys. You two are the Arsenal and Aqualad to my Nightwing.

    1. Dan??? I thought I was going to get the exclusive to the Bronze Tiger art work? God knows Ben needs a righteous representation.

The picture is on point my friend. Diablo is a welcome surprise to this team line up and Lashina is on board. I'm really digging the cool factor.

    2. oops...have to update and say, Dan, my bad got the pics late. Now the whole world knows my cell phone is umm......challenged. Anyway Shlomo come thru man and lets talk Squad business or about how bad Arrow sucks.

  4. Arrow doesn't suck that bad compared to Smallville or SHIELD. Dude, The Squad is being born right this very minute. Just recruited Tiger, and you know Deadshot's next.

As for Boomer-butt, he looks better than the classic version a lot of people want figure-wise. But if he was all that there was to represent your neck of the woods, I guess I can see why you didn't........Maybe;)

    1. my time is very valuable to me. a show has to do a little better then "not suck that bad" for me to watch it. I recorded the last half dozen episodes of SHIELD before the end of the first season but I only kinda sorta watched them. I was on the verge of giving up all together on that show until the season finale which ended up being surprisingly good.
I didn't like it at first but I would say the animated Green Lantern show eventually became good enough for me to watch. I'd say Young Justice was the last really good show (consistently good) comic book related show on TV.

    2. Ahhh Dale come on, you know that Arrow has screwed up every super villain to date. BT is nothing like the comic version, Roy has super strength Barry Allen is a kid, (Green) Arrow is some kind of new young Batman martial artist bad ass with a little miracle drug mixed in?

One show Arrow is beating 2 of the best fighters in the DCU, the next show he can hardly beat a henchman. In less than five years the Black Canary is League of Assassin? She went from fresh out of college to one of the deadliest fighters in the world, talk about suspending your disbelief.

To be fair, Arrow has it's moments but damn, lets keep the fantasy real.

  5. Well Tiger, it's like this; Once you realize and understand it's not and most likely won't be like the comics, then maybe you'll enjoy it for what it is. I don't like what they did to Barry, making him a punk kid and all. That's typical CW/WB thinking for you. But overall, it';s not bad. Is it the best Superhero show out there? No, but it's hardly the worst, unlike say SHIELD. Which sucks butter-nuts.

Plus unlike SHIELD, Arrow introduces and expands the whole arrow-verse to such an extent, that now it really feels like it's super-close to being the DCU proper.

    1. I agree whole heart. Everything you just said is truth. My problem is that this is Bronze Tiger's mainstream coming out party and this is what we get. what are they really telling us. No telling me, I'm taking it dead ass personal.

I'll tell you why. Look back at him in the comics.....go ahead I'll give you a minute. What do see? Don't know? I'll tell ya, Little to nothing. Even Ostrander didn't do what he should have with the guy who he made famous, infamous or simply made us take notice (take your pick). Now some lame turned him into a real life Tiger.

Most people would say, well Hell...go read comics in a different verse. And I am. However that's like saying if you don't like your job go get another one and the mortgage is due and it's going to be due the next month and the month after that.

The point: Big corporations don't give you room to maneuver when it comes to the big picture. In one case the big picture is having somewhere to live. On the flip side it's the right representation of African American characters. It's important even when it relates to entertainment. And they are (DC, Marvel) the medium to the media.
