Thanks for the heads up Dale about Ales Kot getting bumped from the Suicide Squad that was kinda interesting. Just think think folks, with every choice we make we literally create a new world in which history branches off into new realities. That means on another Earth in another universe there was no DC Reboot and in yet another the rebooted Suicide Squad looked very much like the Ostrander series. But on this Earth, I think my feelings about Kot and the Suicide Squad title can best be summed up but Owl Man's last line in this clip from Crisis On Two Earths: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-rl0tfQO9E

You're welcome;)
ReplyDeleteyes it would be nice if the reboot never happened, or if so, Ostrander had another shot at intelligently redefining the Squad for a new era.
Speaking off Ostrander, he's writing the new Annual for Aquaman, Aquaman Annual#2. So apparently poor health or not, he's still working.
Ostrander wrote Aquaman #20 as well. I think it was #20. I'm pretty sure it was #20.
DeleteSome of those old sourcebooks had the best illustrations. My friend Kyla and I used to try and draw our superheroes for role playing off of them. Somehow my costumes never ended up looking that cool. Nice find, Shlomo. I'd love to have a machine to visit other realities. Then find one I want to stay in and bump off the Hannah there.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that makes me chaotic neutral, or something.
yes having a machine to let you visit other realities would be cool just like in the TV show Sliders. i'd settle for at least the transporters from Star Trek but unfortunately those don't exist either in this reality we're stuck with.
DeleteI hear you. I've always wanted a transporter. Just think, you could beam yourself in and out of every baseball game, every convention. Heck, even movies.
DeleteWhat do you mean not got bumped from this title? He just got started and ....its getting better? What happened?
ReplyDeleteI mean kot ....not not ...damn small keyboard on my tablet
ReplyDeleteaccording to Kot "Yes, Matt Kindt is writing SS #24 and I am no longer writing Suicide Squad," Kot wrote. "Matt Kindt is a very capable storyteller who is doing exciting things in the comics medium and I wish him great things. Kot did not specify if it was his decision to leave the book or DC's, but wrote, "I killed my deadlines, I wrote my best, and I have no regrets whatsoever." DC declined comment on Kot's departure, and whether or not Kindt is the new series writer of Suicide Squad or just on board for issue #24.
Deletebut like Owlman said lyricalsuicide, "it doesn't matter".
Karl Kesel and Luke McDonnell defined the Suicide Squad just as much as Ostrander himself. The pencils the panels and the inks described and dramatically expresed the story just like the writing; In some ways more.
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice find my friend. I apppreciate the flash back.
your welcome, these days a little flash back here and there is about all a real Suicide Squad has to look forward to anymore.
DeleteI didn't knew about Ostrander's glacoma. Sorry to lean that.
ReplyDeleteVery nice find an post!
welcome back.
DeleteThank you :)
