Poison Ivy vs Swamp Thing

One of my earliest postings on this blog was a Swamp Thing Suicide Squad cross over posting (Dec. 8, 2010) given that both Bell Reve (Task Force X HQ) and the the origins of the Swamp Thing are in the swamp lands of Louisiana. So in a way this posting is something of a part two to that. I dunno why I didn't include Poison Ivy in that posting back then given her fairly extensive history with Task Force X. What an interesting show down that would have been. It never happened as far as I know but check out all the cool fan art of these two champions of the green. What you see to your left is just a small preview image of what's waiting for you at the link

  1. That Swamp Thing image of yours Dave is one of my favourites of your work I've seen mate! I love how you use the colours to make him seem dark and murky but add the butterfly to bring out his gentler nature...

It's odd you mention Swampy and the Squad as I always wanted Alec to join the Suiciders back in the day. I just thought if a monster in the swamps was running round, The Wall would try and round him up to 'rehabilitate him' in her own way. Alec would've joined thinking he was a monster but seeing the dark in his teammates would see the hero bust free..

    Well that's what I would've done :)

  2. I still think one someone did with Swampy and Poison Ivy having a kid was funny. How have they not hooked up yet? Well besides her being a homicidal killer and all, but hey, no one's perfect;)

  3. It'd be interesting to see how Swampy handle Ivy. *ahem* Not like that. Get your mind out of the gutters. Would her pheramones work on him? Or would she just use his own body against him? Cause I don't think he'd like her very much.

Dave, if I haven't said it before I adore that Swamp Thing you did. The coloring is so...I don't know a word. Melted? Right down to the yellow sky with the brown bits against it. Perfect. Very calming.

    1. thank you dear, that's the wonders of water colors.

on a general side note folks, just got done watching agents of SHIELD from this week it was the best episode in quite a while and i was about to give up on that series. part of it takes place in Oakland which is about ten mminutes from me that's where all that Occupy mayhem happened on the West Coast. there's this insanely hot brunette with these big beautiful eyes that was one of the villains she alone was almost worth watching the episode.

  4. Huh. yeah I guess that description kinda' fits. She was cute, redhead, and ultimately turned out to be a manipulative bitch. Yep, that's Poison Ivy alright?;)

  5. Dave, man this is some serious work. I don't think I've seen it before now. What I need to do is go back and read all of the new Swamp Thing series. I hear it's hella good.
