Yep that's actually a line in episode 1 of Vixen. Talk about an animated show with an edge! So apparently CW Seed isn't a TV cable channel it's some sort of CW network site. And the new Vixen series are actually just these 5 minute long mini episodes. So far 6 have been produced and depending how successful they are Vixen might become a live action show which I think would suck (pun intended) just like every other comic book based TV series out there. I say just make it a full length 30 minute episode animated series and leave it at that. Anyways, loved the first episode top notch writing and animation can't wait to see episode 2

Its definitely not bad, lots of potential for this series. I'm not a huge Vixen fan, but the fact that a true diverse charcter like her is getting a series is always a plus. That line you led with though.....definitely not for the kiddies. Does this mean it'll be more geared towards a mature audience despite the animation?

DeleteThe animation kinda misleads you into thinking its going to be kid friendly is what I was trying to get across. sure it's more sophisticated animation than say that horrible Teen Titans show, but its still animated is all.
ReplyDeletethe animation style is virtually the same as Young Justice so Vixen possibly being a kiddie friendly show never even entered the fringes of my mind. that aside the not so thinly veiled oral sex reference and Vixen being called a "bitch" by a would be mugger at the end the first episode has me convinced that the writing on this series will be even edgier then YJ.
Deletedamn can you believe I haven't seen it yet but You guys make it sound good. So I hope she make it out of 5min shorts to a real animated series or movie. God knows it's enough Batman, Superman and Green lantern stuff out there already. And some of it is shitty. Why not give Vixen a real chance?
ReplyDeleteJust watched ep1 and ep2. They were good guys. The writing is clean and puts together a neat new generic story. I like that their giving Vixen a chance and you got to admit the opening fight scene was hella nice.
