Some rather unique fan art

Left click to enlarge
I've been wondering for a while if I'd ever find anything again having to to do with the original Suicide Squad. Well just by chance I happened to stumble across this rather unique fan art. I didn't know what to think of it at first but as I started going through this artist's gallery on deviant art the work definitely started to grow on me. Among my favorites are Aquaman, The Riddler, Captain Atom, Cheetah, Guy Gardner, Solomon Grundy and Martian Manhunter: http://colouronly85.deviantart.com/gallery/

Superman Batman Apocalypse

I was at a Target store last night (it's like Walmart) and I saw Superman Batman Apocalypse for only $10. I was tempted to grab it but I decided not to. Although I think Justice League Doom is a bit better then most give it credit for I have no doubt this animated DC movie is way better. The battle between Wonder Woman/Barda and The Female Furies was arguably the best fight scene in any DC animated movie and the animation through out was nothing short of perfect. But like Doom there's so much of this movie on Youtube already I'm not sure I'd be getting a whole lot of bang for my 10 bucks at this point.

By the way have any of you seen any of Suicide Squad 24? Captain Boomerang is back on the team but aside from that the story appears actually appears to be somewhat interesting for a change. So there seems to be a glimmer of hope whoever the current writer is might actually take this book into the right direction. It's still far from something that I'll buy and besides pretty much half the issue can be read online anyways:

Justice League Doom, now that's what I call a cat fight!

So this is the latest DC animated video which I recently picked up. I found it for $10 at music/video store out here that's full of discounted used DVDs and CDs among other things. I thought this was pretty good but a bit short of being great and as of yet I'm not sure where I would rank it in comparison to other stuff I've seen and bought recently like Batman: Under The Red Hood or Justice League: Flash Point Paradox. Truth be told I wish I hadn't watched so much of it on Youtube before, I probably would have enjoyed it a bit more had I not. So for those of you who don't have the DVD most of the best stuff in it can be seen on Youtube. Hands down my favor part of the movie were the battles between Cheetah and Wonder Woman. The animation was superb as were the sound effects and I absolutely loved Claudia Black (from Farscape) as the voice actor for Cheetah. And of course I'm up for watching just about anything in which Nathan Fillion is doing the voice of Green Lantern plus Cyborg as a character really shined in the story line as well. Nothing worth mentioning as far as the DVD's "special features" unfortunately.

Speaking of Wonder Woman, I love Linda Carter more then ever after having read this quote from her recently "You look at any society that suppresses women, and it’s violent."

I tell ya, when it comes to some of the assholes on face book this sums it up for me.

Young Justice season 1 voice actors

Finally I had me some quality down time for the first time in over 2 weeks now so I was chillin a bit with Youtube. I just want to start off by saying that there are a lot of these videos for Young Justice as well as other animated shows featuring the voice actors and I'm working on trying to watch them all when I have time. But this one makes for a nice introduction for those of you who haven't scene any of them so far. It just blows me away which actors turned out to be the voice of some of the characters on YJ.
In some cases I knew it right away such as with Bruce Greenwood (Batman) or Marina Sirtis (Queen Bee) and in other cases I would have never guessed it in a million years such as Lex Luther who's voice is done by Mark Rolston who played Drake in ALIENS and you probably also know him from The Shawshank Redemption. In regards to this video what totally caught me off guard was which actors did the voices of Bane, Kobra, Sportsmaster and King Farady. Still miss this show so much fuck you CN!

I've been getting around to watching more of these voice actor videos and I'm luvin em so far. I especially love those "I thought that's who that was" moments as i watch them. So I think I'll keep posting the youtube vids for the DC animated movies I've seen that I thought were good.

These DC animated movies are really the only thing from DC worth spending money on these days. With both Young Justice and Green Lantern off the air now these movies are as good as it gets when you want something to watch.

Almost forgot this one. That rounds out all the DC animated movies I've seen in full that I thought were good I was able to find these voice actor vids for.

Oprah Winfrey as Amanda Waller

Hat tip to Dale Bagwell for finding this. I haven't been able to find any new fan art for the Squad from the old DCU for months now. Nothing but bullshit from the New 52 and even the WW II Squad both of which I could give a rat's ass about. You can find more stuff from the guy who did this here: http://johntrumbull.deviantart.com/art/LIID-106-Reboots-of-Future-Past-327006067

Suicide Squad reboot still one big suck fest

This Youtube channel Cimicbookcast2 do these really good and comprehensive reviews in under 3 minute long videos. As you'll see this book still very much sucks and has nothing going for it for fans of the original series from the old DCU. Issue 23 concludes ales kot's 3 issue run on the series but I'm confident that the writing for this shitty book will continue to offer zero satisfaction for fans of the real Suicide Squad.

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox animated movie

I was just looking at some clips from this movie by chance on Youtube and holy shit does this ever look awesome! Like Batman: Under The Red Hood I think this one will be worth buying if I happen to find it somewhere. As you can see here with Captain Boomerang the animation is top notch. Unfortunately there's no real Suicide Squad stuff going on in it as far as I can tell but there is something in it for fans of The Rogues. There are a lot more scene clips available but here are just some of my favorites that I found on Youtube . . .
