Bronze Tiger, a break from Task Force X for Justice League Task Force

For a while now I've been hoping to find Justice League Task Force issues 5 and 6 in some back issue bin since I've known that it included Bronze Tiger along with Green Arrow, Gypsy and a supposed paraplegic Bruce Wayne. No luck so far but I did recently come across a source that had a lot of clip art from the issues: http://batmanfeats.blogspot.com/p/story-linesevents-prep-time.html  You can also find other bits of clip art from the issues here and there on the net by doing word key word searches. But along with some preview pages you can view those issues can be bought digitally for $2.00 each:

From what I've read of the issues their not bad and as you can see here the art work was pretty good. Green Arrow is especially drawn well in the clip art samples I posted here. I've never bought an e-comic before but maybe I'll make that my new years resolution for 2013.

  1. That is indeed beautifully done art.
A great style drawing for a very stylish guy.
    Happy New year!

  2. Have you ever tried Indie comics before? Could be some good stories & art waiting to be found. You can purchase them as e-comics as well as order hardcopies from different places, depending. I'm going to look into those next.

    1. i don't mind reading some clip art on a computer monitor but to read an entire comic would be really tiresome on my eyes. i actually only did it once before with an e-comic a friend sent me and that was for an issue having to do with something i was really into. over the years i've never read much of any indie comics other then some random issues here and there. nothing ever interested me enough to want to keep following it on a regular basis except for the movie based comics that Dark Horse used to do for ALIENS, Terminator and Predator. i guess i've always been a mainstream comic kinda reader. so basically starting to read indie e-comics at this point in my life is about as likely as me converting to islam. these days for me it's pretty much just about buying discount back issues and blogging about comics in general :)

  3. I got this one, Ben. It wasn't a bad story really. Plus a nice way of amalgamating the Suicide Squad franchise with the Justice League franchise.

    Plus a pretty so-so Bat-crossover as well.

    2. Agreed Jay, Justice League Taskforce was the perfect idea. Sprinkle in 2 or 3 members of Justice League Elite and we have

      Taskforce Elite!

the best of all three teams at what they do. (Sounded Wolverinish didn't it)?

  4. Posted a comment earlier but it didn't show up. Weird. Anyhoo, the early issues of JLTF were pretty good for the most part, especially since big names like Green Arrow, Batman, and Bronze Tiger were used in the beginning. It kinda went downhill after that in the later run, even though Christopher Priest, who's a pretty damn good writer in own right, took the book over. I blame it on the cast of characters he was left with as opposed to who he probably wanted or could have used.

Is that Geoff Isherwood on art? If so, he was brilliant as usual, and did a few issues later on of the original Ostrander SS, namely the origin issue of BT, #38.

Anyone else besides me, play the video game on SNES? Ah, good times, and it was a pretty damn good fighting game for the time. I mean, where else would you have GA fight Aquaman, or Superman battle the Flash in a game? Exactly.

I also enjoyed that link you left Shlomo. It really illustrates through the years just how badass and smart Batman is, as if I didn't already know that;)

    1. glad yoou enjoyed the link after all sharing is caring. just ask any couples ouot there who swing. as for Bruce there's a reason why he's the world's best detective but based on the clip art the guy in the wheel chair may not actually have been Bruce Wayne.

  5. Nice look back at Bronze Tiger in JLTF. The Tiger made a cameo on this team of revolving heroes that give us an OK look at Turners potential.

BT and Green Arrow worked good together, both of these characters seem to be able to fit anywhere they show up.

JLTF was Martian Manhunters team. Gypsy was the only other member that was a mainstay though. BT gave her some training and they had a nice little fling for a minute. But scary writing or not knowing how to develop Gypsies character didn't get their relationship explored; and BT only made it into 3 or 4 issues.

J'onn does get another shot at the lead on a high profile book. Maybe the Tiger will show up.

    1. if you're talking about the new DCU i'd expect the cure to cancer to being discovered first before those lame asses as DC write BT back into DC. the DC reboot "ain't nothin" : )

    2. This is true my friend :)

Let me back up and sort of explain what I meant about Checkmate. I bought the books so it was something I liked and hoped for in that series. Somewhere it all just went wrong. It was a great concept. The ambitious undertaking of so many characters, long drawn out dialog no true protagonist and the lack of direction made for a boring time.

Flashes of good things and great artwork still doesn't make a good read. JLUnlimited dealt with a lot of characters. But it's attention was focused on a couple of main guys that we got a good complete look at thru story. I think Checkmate failed at this.

  6. Yeah,true;)

As for BT, again, I think it'll be a case of "Be careful what you wish for", especially with the current mindset over there at Deplorable Comics.
I'd bet even $ should BT show up, both of you guys will be complaining the very minute that issue gets published and it's revealed just how fucked this version of BT winds up being.

I love you guys, but you know it's true;)

So, on my end, I promise to put out quality BT-featured skits that do him justice.
You might like my idea for a Blacktion Squad featuring BT and other African-American hero figures I have like, Bishop, War Machine(Wish I had Omega's kick-ass custom figure) Black Vulcan, Deathlok, Luke Cage and GL John Stewart.
